Getting started with Aerogram

Open your workspace, protect your sign-in and connect your first mailbox. Aerogram brings your existing email together without replacing your email provider.

Available since 9 October 2026

The guides describe available tasks. Some options depend on your plan, your workspace’s capabilities and your provider’s permissions.

Sign in to your workspace

Use the Aerogram address supplied for your instance and your personal username. Your Aerogram account protects your workspace; it is separate from the Gmail, Microsoft or IMAP connections you add later. Connecting a mailbox does not create another Aerogram account. If you do not have an account, submit an application and wait for an invitation; applying does not give you immediate access.

After your password, sign-in requires a second factor. During initial setup, open a compatible authenticator app, scan the displayed code and confirm a temporary code. You can access your email after completing this check.

Accepting a new invitation starts a thirty-day Comfort trial with five mailboxes and a shared 25 GB quota, without a bank card. Archiving must still be chosen for each mailbox and its activation depends on available storage. Existing trials and contracts are not converted. The settings guide explains the limits and protection of local data.

  1. Open the login page of your Aerogram instance.
  2. Enter your username and complete the requested verification.
  3. Save your recovery codes before completing setup.

Prepare for account recovery

The ten recovery codes are shown only once. Keep them somewhere safe, separate from the phone you use for authentication. Each code can be used once and still requires your password. Never share these codes with another person.

In your account settings, you can add a passkey on a compatible device or verify a secondary recovery address. This address becomes usable after 24 hours; a password-reset link never replaces the second factor.

Connect your first mailbox

Open mailbox settings and choose your provider. Check the suggested primary address before confirming the connection. For an IMAP/SMTP mailbox, choose whether it should receive, send or do both, then enter only the required settings.

Start with one mailbox so you can understand its connection status and import progress. Message headers may appear before the full content. Active incoming mail and an incomplete historical import are two different states.

Find your bearings

The unified inbox brings together conversations from your accounts; select a mailbox to limit the list and actions to that account. Open a message, check its sender and date, then try a simple search of the available email.

Sign out after using a shared device. The security panel lets you review sessions and remove an old device’s access. Keep passwords, recovery codes and recovery links private, including when asking for help.

Staging preview: choose the public site’s language

In the staging preview, public pages, guides and news offer addresses in your chosen language. Use the language menu to open the same page in another language; navigation links follow that choice. The familiar French addresses are preserved.

A bookmark or shared link to an old address leads to the new page in the same language. To keep the new address, open the page and copy the address shown by your browser. This addition concerns the staging preview; it does not confirm production availability.

  1. Open the language menu on a public page.
  2. Choose your language and check the content of the page that opens.
  3. Copy its address to share this version or add it to your bookmarks.
