Adjust your workspace and devices

Find settings in one window, choose a comfortable appearance and configure notifications while keeping their scope and your privacy in mind.

Available since 9 October 2026

The guides describe available tasks. Some options depend on your plan, your workspace’s capabilities and your provider’s permissions.

Find the right section

Settings has six sections: appearance and use, composition and sending, notifications, mailboxes, files and storage, and account. On desktop, use the side navigation; on mobile, open a section from the list and return afterwards. Menu labels follow your selected interface language.

Settings search covers setting names, never your email. Check whether a choice affects this device, your entire workspace or one mailbox. Unsaved entries are retained when you change sections; use the save button when the form requires it.

  1. Open the settings then search for the subject or choose its section.
  2. Check the indicated scope before changing a value.
  3. Save when the form requests it and check the result.

Navigate settings

Settings retain six categories. Choose a category, then a subsection to open a focused view of the setting you need. On a large screen, three columns show the categories, subsections and form. In a medium-sized window, subsections appear beneath the selected category in the sidebar. On mobile, these lists and the form appear one after another; use the back buttons to move up a level. A category with just one subsection can open it directly.

Search opens the relevant setting directly and shows its path from the category. It searches only setting titles and keywords, never your mail. Your entries are preserved when you switch views; going back does not save them. Use the save button when the form asks you to. Check the stated scope: this device, your Aerogram account, the whole workspace or a particular mailbox. The theme remains specific to the device, while the language applies to your account across all your devices. Mailbox names and your content remain unchanged.

  1. Choose a category, then the subsection for the setting you need.
  2. Use search or the back buttons to move around without losing your entries.
  3. Check the scope and save only when the form asks you to.

Choose the theme and presentation

Light, Dark and Automatic change the interface appearance. Automatic follows your device or adjustable local times. The theme choice belongs to this device; another browser can retain its own preference. This presentation does not alter colours saved in your messages.

The guides and mail interface are available in seven languages. The app’s language selector is published in production on 12 October 2026. Your emails, signatures, drafts and personal names are never automatically translated.

Enable notifications voluntarily

In Notifications, use Enable on this device to request browser permission. Simply loading the page never requests it. Choose mailboxes, quiet hours and preview detail. The default remains neutral: New message, without a sender or subject.

A preview may appear on a locked screen. Use the explicit test, then check system permissions. Alerts cover eligible new arrivals, not your entire imported history; messages received during quiet hours are not sent as a burst afterwards.

Understand your device’s limits

Web Push depends on your browser, system, network and permissions. On iPhone or iPad, add the app to the home screen for this flow. An accepted request does not guarantee immediate display; testing a computer does not automatically validate a phone.

The Account panel also lets you review your profile, recovery options and sessions. Removing an old session cuts off its Aerogram access. Finally, distinguish the reading cache, personal storage and backups: their uses and your plan’s capacities are different.

Compare plans without changing an existing contract

The four new plans are published in production on 12 October 2026. Prices are indicative and exclude tax; payments are not enabled. The administrator assigns a plan after checking your workspace’s capabilities. High volume remains unavailable until your workspace is authorised for twenty mailboxes.

The shared quota covers retained email copies, their attachments and shared files. GB are decimal. The separate 512 MiB reading cache is unchanged: it is neither this quota nor the maximum size of your mailbox at the provider. You choose archiving separately for each mailbox. Only originals and attachments actually copied are retained within the shared quota. A larger plan does not automatically archive every mailbox or promise faster synchronization.

Existing Access and Storage 25, 100 or 500 GB contracts keep their rights and ten mailboxes. They are not automatically converted to new plans. Check the plan actually assigned to your workspace; this table describes the current catalogue. A commercial quota does not reserve that much space on the application server. Assignment checks connected mailboxes, retained copies, files and transfers reserving quota. High volume requires a workspace allowing twenty mailboxes; it remains unavailable in a workspace limited to ten, even when storage is ready.

Essential provides two mailboxes and 5 GB, Comfort five and 25 GB, Advanced ten and 100 GB, and High volume twenty and 500 GB. Assignment to a lower limit is refused if connected mailboxes or retained copies, files and reserved uploads exceed that capacity. A displayed plan is therefore not an assigned entitlement.

The new plans and trial protect locally created data: drafts and associated attachments, signatures, templates, settings and follow-ups, as well as actually retained copies and shared files. Data held only in the reading cache is excluded. Recovery does not automatically repeat any send or provider action. When the new trial expires, local protection remains in place; provider connections and sends are suspended pending plan assignment.

Customize reading and shortcuts

Settings → Appearance and use → Reading lets you choose Full width reading, the default, or Side by side reading on a large screen. The layout and width stay saved in this browser for your Aerogram identity and workspace, independently of the mailbox and shortcut profile. On a narrow screen, reading uses the full width without clearing that choice; expanding the reader remains temporary.

In Settings → Appearance and use → Shortcuts and gestures, the Aerogram and Gmail profiles remain available and Outlook (web) offers six global keys: N for a new message, R to reply, Shift+R to reply all, Shift+F to forward, E to archive and Delete to delete according to the context. This profile is independent of the connected provider and does not add other Aerogram or Gmail keys. Replying and forwarding require an open conversation. Global commands remain disabled in input fields, menus and dialogs; browser Ctrl/Command combinations and local composing commands remain separate. The selected profile also belongs to this browser, your identity and your workspace.

  1. Choose the layout you want in Reading; no mailbox change is needed.
  2. Choose Aerogram, Gmail or Outlook (web) in Shortcuts and gestures.
  3. Use the interface’s keyboard help to see the active keys and their context.

An image to recognise each mailbox

In Aerogram Settings → Mailboxes, use the image control associated with the mailbox. Choose an image, move it and adjust the zoom inside the circular mask, then check the small preview. Save image applies the change; Cancel keeps the previous image. You can also adjust the crop with the arrow keys, +, - and Home.

The image stays within Aerogram and appears on your devices in the same workspace. It changes neither your sender address nor your profile at the provider. Pausing or disconnecting the mailbox preserves it. Remove restores the usual mailbox badge, with the provider or initials. Only the small final image is saved; names, addresses and provider badges remain visible.

Staging preview, 13 October 2026: a compact menu on each mailbox avatar offers Change image and, for a custom image, Remove. Its control appears on hover or keyboard focus and stays visible for touch. Enter or Space opens the menu; Escape closes it and restores focus. The name, address and mailbox type remain readable, with the type on the right; cropping still requires explicit confirmation.

Crop your profile photo, staging preview

The staging preview lets you crop your Aerogram account photo inside a circular mask. This personal photo stays separate from your mailbox images and from your profile at your mail provider.

The small preview shows the resulting crop. Use a mouse, touch or the keyboard to move the photo and adjust the zoom; applying a change always requires explicit confirmation. To remove a saved photo, choose Delete and then save the removal.

  1. Open Aerogram Settings → Aerogram account → Profile.
  2. Use Choose a photo or Change photo, then select a PNG, JPEG or WebP file.
  3. Move the photo and adjust the zoom with a mouse or touch. On the keyboard, use the arrow keys, +, - and Home to recenter.
  4. Confirm with Save avatar, or choose Cancel to keep the previous photo. Focus then returns to the photo control.
